Review of Revlon Colorstay Foundation

This is a review of how Revlon Colorstay has worked for me.
My Face: Very fair ,very oily, large pores, acne prone but not overly sensitive, fine lines around the eyes and on forehead, and some issues with redness in the cheek area.
Not a pretty picture with bare skin! That's why I am always on the hunt for a great foundation that can combat most if not all my facial issues. Still haven't found the magic potion as of yet to remedy my flaws so let's review how this foundation measures up to high expectations!

Product description:What the package says/Claims

*Revlon Colorstay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6

Combination oily skin-Color: 110 Ivory

1Fl Oz/30mL

*Looks and feels fresh all day

*SoftFlex provides all day comfort

*Oil-free shine control

*Transfer-resistant

What about packaging? As you can see from the pictures there is unfortunately no pump. Thumbs down for the unpopular messy pour out of the bottle method. However this is not a big deal for me.

How is the consistency? This foundation is on the liquidy side but don't let that fool you! This is not a sheer foundation. I would say Medium to full. It dries rather quickly and therefore a bit hard to blend out especially if you like using a stippling brush. I find it much easier to apply with a regular foundation brush, my fingers, or a densely packed kabuki type brush. I don't find this foundation to be build able at all due to the fact that it dries so fast. If you try to build up the coverage after it dries it just looks cakey. But with the right application this stuff can make your skin look near flawless!

PROS: I really do find Revlon Colorstay to do just that! Stay! ALL DAY! For me it does not transfer or even fade throughout the day. Stays true to the color also, does not oxidize. I do have to work a bit when first applying to blend it well so it does not sink into my pores. Does not accentuate fine lines or sink into them. I find that it covers flaws, redness, acne and scars well. Holds up well in humidity, sweat, and just about water resistant. Helps to keep my ever present shine to a minimum and doesn't melt off my oily skin! Super A+++ on that that! Has an SPF of 6. I have been using Colorstay for about a year and it has never broken my skin out. One last thing I really like about this foundation is that when it dries it feels soft and smooth not sticky or wet.
CONS: Dries fast, difficult to blend, not buildable, no pump, has a strong chemical oder. (This smell vanishes when it dries.) If applied to heavily it can look a bit mask like. Makes you look like your wearing heavy foundation instead of making you look like you have great skin. So apply with a light hand.
So does this foundation live up to its promises? For me, I would have to say YES! The color selection for this product is good, perhaps I should say great since I found an "Ivory" shade that doesn't turn my face into an overly pink or yellow mess. Fair skinned ladies will know what I am talking about! The shade in 110 Ivory is just that. Not pink or yellow toned but neutral. Matches my skin perfectly. I find that it is great mixing medium for other foundations that are too dark or don't have the staying power of Colorstay. Although this may not be the perfect foundation, it will always have a home in my collection! If you have oily skin, I highly recommend this foundation!
PS: Revlon also makes a Dry/normal combination version of Colorstay
